GreyHound Hollow Collars Steps to
Proper Sizing
For
custom non-adjustable martingale collars (found in the Ornate
& Custom-Sized
category): Step 1: Measure over the head in
front of the ears at point #1 in the diagram below. Step 2:
Measure directly behind the ears at point #2 (Please measure
snug). Step 3: Measure the point on the neck
where you would like the collar to rest for point #3.
This can be halfway down to the base of the neck. NOTE: The largest point on the hounds head, point #1
in the diagram, must be LESS than measurement #3 for a non-adjustable
martingale collar to
fit.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For adjustable martingale collars (all other categories including Reflective Safety
& Heavy Duty) choose
the smallest size collar that will accommodate the largest of the three
measurements on the diagram shown below.
For greyhounds: Example A: Point #1 is 13, point #2 is 12 ½, and
point #3 is 17, choose a large collar. Example B: Point #1 is 11, point #2 is 11, and
point #3 is 15, choose a medium collar. For other breeds: Example A: Point #1 is 21, point #2 is 18 and point
#3 is 20, choose an x-large collar. (It can be tightened to 20, after going over the
head.)
For traditional snap buckle collars only
measurement point #3 on the diagram, is needed.
Note: Point #1 on the diagram is the
largest point of the dogs head, whether that is across the brow or over
the
ears.
